My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🌟 Meet Ginger — Your New Little Shadow of Sunshine! 🌟

If you’re looking for a kitten who is equal parts adorable, cuddly, and completely full of love… meet Ginger!
This sweet girl has the softest fur, the brightest curious eyes, and a gentle personality that will melt you instantly.

Ginger LOVES attention and will happily soak up every pet and cuddle you offer. And if you’re not paying close enough attention? Don’t worry—she’ll fix that by climbing right up to your neck and tucking herself in for a snuggle. She’s truly a little velcro kitten who just wants to be close to her people.

She’s also a total pro at the litter box, is spayed, and is up to date on all her vaccines—so she’s ready for her forever family today.

Whether she’s gazing up at you with those big expressive eyes or curling into your arms for a nap, Ginger brings warmth, love, and kitten joy everywhere she goes.

🐾 Ready to add the sweetest little cuddlebug to your home? Come meet Ginger! 🧡✨

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
