Lays is a 16-week-old, 20-pound terrier–hound mix who’s as sweet as they come. He’s crate trained, potty trained, great with other dogs, and wonderful with children.

Playful, friendly, and eager to please, Lays loves toys, snuggles, and exploring the world around him. He would be a fantastic addition to any family looking for a loving, social puppy.

This sweet boy loves everyone he meets – dogs, kids, adults – you name it! He’s social, affectionate, and would thrive in a home with playmates (human or canine).

Whether he's romping around the yard, learning new tricks, or snuggling up after playtime, Lays is sure to bring lots of love, laughter, and tail wags into your life.

The adoption fee of $450 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees range from $100 - $500 depending on species,age and breed. For dogs/puppies this covers spay/neuter, microchip, dewormers, flea and tick preventative, heartworm test (only over 6 months of age) and all up to date, age appropriate vaccinations. Cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. We require an adoption application and a home visit prior to adoption.

We schedule meets with approved adopters only, so you must download our PreAdoption Application from our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com and follow the instructions to email it to us.

We are not a shelter. We are a group of pet lovers and advocates who are committed to targeted rescue. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff.
Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home. We are happy to set up an appointment to meet our pets once we receive and review your completed application.

We do our best to process applications quickly but please understand that we are a foster based rescue and that our volunteers work jobs; many are full time. Once your application is reviewed, we will put you in contact with the dog's foster family to set up a time to meet the pet of your choice!

Starfish Animal Rescue has been rescuing and transporting cats and dogs from two shelters in Southeast Kentucky. Since Starfish's conception, we have been able to rescue and transport over 10.000 dogs and cats. We are always in need of volunteers, and donations. All of our adoptable pups are in loving foster homes, preparing for their forever home.
