My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sloth Bear — a 6-year-old scruffy terrier mix with a heart full of love and 12.7 pounds of pure charm.

Sloth Bear is the perfect blend of sweet, and sensitive. Beneath his shaggy coat and expressive eyes is a loyal companion who bonds deeply with his people. He’s looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can be the center of someone’s world — your one and only pet.

Recently, Sloth Bear was diagnosed with degenerative mitral valve disease, confirmed with a cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram). While this condition will need ongoing monitoring, it doesn’t stop him from enjoying the little joys in life: cozy blankets, slow walks, and curling up next to his favorite human.

If you’re searching for a gentle, devoted companion who will adore you endlessly, Sloth Bear may be the perfect match. He’s ready to meet the person who will love him just the way he is.

Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you.

All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
