Meet Frances: Frances is a 4-year-old Poodle who has endured a life most dogs shouldn’t have to know. She came to Big Dog Ranch as a breeder release, having spent her entire life in heartbreaking conditions—used repeatedly for puppies and rarely touched with kindness. The world beyond her cage is completely new, and everyday experiences—like having a leash clipped on or being gently petted—are unfamiliar and sometimes scary. Frances is good with other dogs, loves calm environments, and would do well with seniors or anyone patient and gentle. She is also comfortable in an apartment or condo, as long as she feels safe and secure. She needs a loving, understanding person who can show her that hands can be gentle, and homes can be safe. It may take weeks or even months for her to fully trust, but beneath her caution is a heart ready to bond and love. With time, patience, and consistent kindness, Frances can finally experience what it means to be more than a number—to be truly cherished. Frances is looking for a forever home where she will be given the time, safety, and love she’s never had. She’s ready to discover the joy of being a cherished companion.
