Meet Victor — The Hug-Loving Hurricane Survivor With a Heart of Gold
Victor was born at Negril Pup Rescue in Jamaica, sharing his very first days with his brother Ringo. Life threw this boy more challenges than most dogs ever face — especially after Hurricane Beryl destroyed the rescue’s kennels in 2024. With nowhere to go, many dogs had to be kept in shared yard spaces, and Victor ended up with a few scars from dog fights that were impossible to prevent. But here’s the miracle: Victor remained completely dog-friendly through it all. His heart never hardened.
Now 4.25 years old and 45 pounds, Victor is healthy, vaccinated, fixed, and finally on the path to the gentle life he deserves.
Victor LOVES other dogs — especially females — and gets along beautifully with just about everyone. Because of his past, he should be tested on a case-by-case basis with adult males, and he’s not a fan of puppies (chaos is not his vibe). He’s untested with cats, but he’s certainly open to polite introductions.
With humans, Victor is incredibly affectionate — he gives huge, heartfelt hugs that feel like therapy — but he can be timid around men at first. Once he realizes he’s safe, his loyalty comes out in full force. He’s also the kind of dog who knows when he needs a little quiet time; he’ll happily retreat to his crate to recharge and then re-emerge ready for more cuddles.
Victor survived hurricanes, chaos, displacement, and uncertainty — and still managed to stay sweet, social, and full of love. He’s not just a survivor; he’s a shining example of resilience wrapped in fur.
If you’re looking for a gentle, dog-friendly companion with a huge heart and a story that will make you root for him forever, Victor is your boy.
Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked.
