Chloe is one of a group of cats who were born at a local Houston bar (Drift Bar). They grew up around the hustle and bustle of bar-goers and love being around people. When the only home they’d ever known closed down this summer, the resident kitties were left alone to fend for themselves until some good Samaritans stepped in.
Chloe was snagged off the streets a few weeks after her sister Charlotte and two of their Drift Bar buddies, so she is still adjusting to life indoors. Though she may be timid at first, Chloe has been slowly but surely blooming into a more confident companion each day. With her brave (and nearly identical!) sister by her side, Chloe is learning that being part of a family isn’t so scary after all. Her progress in only a couple weeks has been amazing to watch. Her shyness fades a little each day, and we are so proud to find her in new, more open areas of the house as she feels more secure.
This bright-eyed beauty watches her surroundings with quiet curiosity, taking mental notes and building up her courage, one interaction at a time. While she’s still a little wary of head pats, she absolutely adores chin rubs and butt scratches. Once she’s comfortable, she'll reward your affection by rolling over and purring like a tiny, furry lawnmower.
Chloe has mastered the art of loafing, often perched by a sunny window, keeping watch over the world outside. Her calm presence brings a peaceful energy to any room, and she's happiest when she has a cozy nook to call her own and someone patient nearby who understands that her love and trust will come at her own pace.
___
At the time we are posting Chloe, she is truly a “newbie” indoor cat. During her time with her foster she will be exposed to a lot of new interactions, environments, sounds, and stimuli. When she was in her familiar environment she was just about as brave as her sister Charlotte. As we were trying for weeks to trap her and move her to safety, she would follow us around, rubbing and head butting our legs and staring up, meowing with her adorable little face. Ultimately no trap was needed – she just let us pluck her off the street and carry her home. We fully expect her to come around the same way her sister did after a little more adjustment time, and we can’t wait to see her personality come out even more!
___
Chloe has a nearly-identical sister Chloe who is also up for adoption – the two of them are very close and would be an adorable pair for anyone looking for double the fun. She has a very easygoing demeanor, and with proper introductions she would do just fine with an existing resident cat. She would also be fabulous as an only cat with lots of love and attention from her human family.
Chloe is ~2 years old, spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy, all she needs now is her forever home.
The Drift Bar Kitties: Victoria, Harrison, Charlotte, Chloe, Sebastian (coming soon), and Genevieve (coming soon).
Chloe is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes.
