My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Ksenia was brought in by their previous owner on November 21, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Ksenia! Ksenia is a discerning little monarch who likes life to run on her schedule. She prefers her furniture stable, her routine predictable, and her humans committed to maintaining the vibe. Sudden changes? Not her thing. Please submit all adjustments in writing, three weeks in advance. She's had some litter box drama in the past, so consistency is her best friend. Multiple litter boxes are required-one for regular business, one for special occasions, one just because. She's a connoisseur. To keep her entertained (and out of trouble), she needs plenty of enrichment. Puzzle feeders? She'll solve them faster than you expect. Window perches? Perfect for neighborhood surveillance. Wand toys? Only the flashy kind, thanks. Once she's comfortable, she may even consider supervised outdoor adventures with a harness and leash... as long as it doesn't interrupt her nap schedule. Ksenia enjoys a calmer home without younger kids running around. She likes to take her time warming up, revealing her personality like a slow-burn sitcom-each episode funnier once you get to know her. Don't forget to bring a secure carrier-Ksenia's ready to meet you.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
