My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Niko, a six-year-old Standard Poodle whose world has always revolved around his people. When his prior family reached out to SPIN, it wasn’t because they didn’t love him — in fact, it was quite the opposite. Life changes meant they could no longer give him the structure, time, and one-on-one attention he thrives on. They wanted to set him up for success, and that meant finding a home that could truly match his energy, his intelligence, and his big, loyal heart.

Niko arrived in foster care with the sweetness, house manners, and affectionate nature he’d always had — and he’s been blossoming with the predictability, routine, and kindness of his foster home. He’s a fun, bouncy, endlessly curious boy who loves fetch, outdoor adventures, and staying close to “his” person. He isn’t the laid-back golden-retriever type; Niko is a sensitive, intuitive poodle who notices everything, learns quickly, and thrives when his world makes sense.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Each adoptive family will complete an application, come out to meet the available dog(s) and then email us after the meeting to let us know their intentions to pursue the adoption. We will do a home visit, check their references and then decide on the best home for each dog. Once a home is chosen, the family will sign our adoption contract and pay the $450 adoption fee prior to taking their new family member home with them!

Go meet their pets

All our dogs are in loving foster homes so you must have an appointment to meet them.

More about this rescue

SPIN strives to educate and raise public awareness about how to be responsible for and share your life with a companion animal. We talk about the importance of spay/neuter programs, the deplorable conditions found in puppy mills and advocate for change. We are most proud, however, of our work in engaging like-minded people together by providing a forum to discuss how to care for and celebrate the poodle breed, but also to come together when necessary to help poodles in need.
