If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
She came to us as a stray from the Dallas SPCA with no known history, and it was clear she had recently had puppies. After finishing heartworm treatment, she became reactive toward our senior dogs around high-value items like food and resting spots, leading to a few aggressive incidents. We worked closely with a behavior specialist, tried medication, and completed a 12-week one-on-one training program while separating the home for several months. With consistency and her hard work, she now calmly shares living space, eats in her own area, and no longer reacts when another dog walks by. She has made tremendous progress, but will thrive best as the only dog OR with slow, structured introductions. She loves her humans and is a sweet sweet girl. If I could take her to NJ with me I would.
