This helps Pet Adoption League of Gem County Idaho with pet care costs.
Meet Lena!
Lena is a one year old, purebred German Shorthair Pointer. Her owner could no longer care for her and decided it was best if she found a home that could give her the love and attention she deserved.
Lena is very friendly and wants to be loved and cuddled. She loves children and people so much. She is also great with dogs. She will chase cats, which is typical for the hunting breeds.
Although she was never trained to hunt, she is not gun shy. She locks on point with birds and squirrels. She does pretty well with sit, lay and stay if she is not wound up or has the zoomies.
German Shorthair pointers are easily trainable. If you are not familiar with the breed, do your research first. They are in the Sporting Dog category and were bred to hunt. They require a lot of exercise, so if you're in need of a running partner she may be the perfect fit!
All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered (if they are old enough) before they leave the shelter.
Please fill out an application if you are interested in this dog or call us today for more information
Because we are an all-volunteer organization, please call ahead to schedule a time for a Meet & Greet so we can ensure a dog handler is available to show you the dog or dogs you are interested in.
