Here's what the humans have to say about me:
12/29/25 17:29 Coach has been placed on medical final due to repeated rectal prolapses while in shelter, with a suspected history of previous rectal prolapses. He currently is on a prescription diet and an antibiotic that has been helping to keep his stool firm. This will likely need to be continued with monitoring from a veterinarian. Coach needs rescue or a commited adopter that understands he may have repeat his rectal prolapse and a colopexy may be recommend. He will need ongoing medical care that can cost anywhere from $2K to $5K. *************He needs rescue by 1/13/26**********
Coach is a 1 year old bulldog mix who came into the shelter with a recent history of rectal prolapse, repaired with a local emergency room partner. As of 12/9/25, he has had another rectal prolapse. He has had intermitten diarrhea in shelter, which can worsen risk of prolpase. Prolapse can occur from straining due to diarrhea or other causes of increased abdominal pressure (breed related respiratory changes). He has received metronidazole, propectalin, proviable probiotics - we are now trialing hydrolyzed diet and psyllium husk, as well as ongoing probiotics. Stress of sheltering can worsen diarrhea. Due to recurrent rectal prolapse, Coach is in need of rescue as stress of shelter is not helping his medical condition.
