My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shelby A Workman- Boston Terrier - Female

Shelby is looking for her perfect forever home. She is such a sweet dog and is improving so much. Shelby is a couch potato for sure. She loves hanging out watching football on Saturday and Sundays on the couch with my family. She does love her safe place. We have a crate for her and when she is unsure about something she will go to her crate for a bit. You just have to let her know it's safe and to come back out. She has turned into a follower. She follows me to the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen just about everywhere.

Shelby did have a lump removed from her leg that came back as a mass tumor cell but a slow growing one. She does have to be given Benadryl twice a day. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about Shelby.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
