My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He is amazing. As perfect as a dog can be. His mommy passed unexpectedly in October and his daddy just entered a dementia care facility.

I rescue dogs whose owners are about to pass or have passed away.

Douglas is very chill, very happy and extremely loving.

He does need to lose some weight as his former parents fed him lots of human food as their way of showing love. (This is a common occurrence.)

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue dogs whose owners are about to pass or have passed away and have no one to whom they can leave their pups.

I started this after watching our therapy pet visit in nursing homes and hearing stories from residents about what happened to their pups. Heartbreaking.
