Not So Common is a handsome, loving, and playful teenage kitten. He was found huddling in fear near businesses in Jackson with his sister, 55151 A Little Common. Many people posted for help for him and his sister, and Saved by Zade didn’t hesitate to take them in. When he and his sibling were found by a SBZ volunteer, they were found eating potato chips to survive. He was very sick and malnourished when he came to the rescue, but he knew he was safe and loved. His loving playful personality didn’t take long to come out.
He is a happy go lucky boy who would thrive in any household. He would love another kitty to cuddle with and play with. His sister, A Little Common, has been his companion since being on the streets. They love sleeping together, grooming each other, and of course playing. They don’t have to be adopted together, but having another kitty who loves to be cuddle and play with will make his life so full.
He is obsessed with wet cat food! Just pop a top and he’s chatting and begging for his meal. He loves playing with wand toys, especially ones with feathers on the ends. If you work from home, don’t plan on getting much done. He wants to be near you and play with your computer screen as you move your mouse! He has been exposed to a small dog in his foster home and seems to do well with doggies. To recap, he is a dream kitty! His docile nature and gorgeous long black and white coat make him a diamond in the rough!

Thank you for adopting and giving this kitty a second chance! Here’s what you need to know for a smooth transition:
🛏 Start Small
Set your cat up in one quiet room with a litter box, food, water, and a hiding spot (like a covered bed or cardboard box). Let them explore slowly and on their terms.
⏳ Give Time
Even the friendliest cats may be shy at first. Expect 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle in, and up to 3 months to fully adjust. Be patient—they're learning to trust!
It’s normal for cats to hide for the first 24–72 hours.
Adult cats, especially, may take even longer to feel safe. As long as they’re eating, drinking, and using the litter box, hiding is okay!
🍽 Feed & Hydrate
Keep food and water dishes in a quiet, accessible spot. Follow any diet info provided. Monitor eating, drinking, and litter box habits the first few days.
🚽 Litter Box Basics
Show them where the box is right away. Keep it clean and use unscented, clumping litter unless otherwise noted.
🐱 Interactions
Let your cat come to you. Avoid loud noises or too much handling early on. Use gentle voices and slow blinks to build trust.
