More about this shelter

CHS is more than a shelter. We take pride in rescuing and saving animals that otherwise would be forgotten and mistreated. We do this by being a limited admissions shelter that is able to save thousands of lives each year due to our managed intake procedure. We specialize in adoptions, caring for the mistreated and homeless pets in Hattiesburg, MS and surrounding areas and transport services that span across state lines. We have worked hard to be a no-kill shelter, meaning we maintain a 90% adoption/placement rate for animals in our care. Our mission is to be the home for animal welfare in the Hub City. It is our mission to help the Hub City be more humane to all creatures.
