My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi… I’m Birgit Gia.
I might be a little shy when we first meet, but I promise there’s a very soft, very loving kitty hiding just beneath the surface. I like to take my time getting to know new people and new places, and once I feel safe, my sweet side starts to shine. With a patient, kindhearted human, I warm up into a gentle companion who enjoys quiet company, soft pets, and cozy spots to curl up in. I’m not the loudest or boldest cat in the room—but I am the one who will bond deeply once I learn I can trust you.
If you’re looking for a calm, tenderhearted kitty who will love you in her own quiet way, I’m your girl.
I can’t wait to blossom in my forever home.

Additional adoption info

Our website, IndyHumane.org, is updated daily with pets who are available for adoption. Third-party sites, such as Adopt-a-Pet and others, are not accurate or reliable sources of information about our shelter pets. Please visit IndyHumane.org for more information and to check the status of a particular pet.
Each adoptable cat and dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Our adoption counselors are happy to share their behavioral and medical background with you during the application process!
We are a non-profit shelter with limited staff. Answers to common questions can be found at IndyHumane.org!

Go meet their pets

You can find up-to-date information on all of our available pets by visiting IndyHumane.org/Cats or IndyHumane.org/Dogs. Adopt-a-Pet is a third party site and not a source of reliable, updated information.

Our website is updated throughout each day, so if you see a pet on there that you are interested in, as long as their photo is on the website it means they are still available. Each profile will have a link for their online application. Please fill out an application for the pet you'd like to meet and a member of our team will contact you within 24-48 hours for more info and to schedule an intro. Thanks!
