Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Milo: A Handsome Gentleman Ready for His Second Act
Milo is a 5-year-old, lhasa apso mix. He recently arrived at the shelter as a surrender, and while his past has left him a little skinny and needing some specialized care, he is eager to put that chapter behind him and find his forever family.
Milo came into the shelter quite underweight and severely matted, which was causing him significant pain. The vet team quickly his matting to make him comfortable. As a Lhasa Apso mix, Milo requires consistent, regular professional grooming to prevent matting and keep him comfortable and healthy. Potential adopters must be prepared for this ongoing care requirement. His ideal family must be committed to a structured feeding plan to help him safely and steadily reach a healthy weight.
Milo requires a home with a family who is dedicated to respecting his personal space and reading his body language, especially in new or overwhelming situations. Because of his need for clear boundaries, Milo would do best in a home without young children. He thrives when his people use clear, consistent communication and gentle guidance, allowing him to feel safe and respected. He promises to be a devoted companion when he knows his boundaries are honored!
Milo is an incredibly sweet dog who just needs a patient, experienced owner to help him blossom. With the right foundation of trust and consistent care, he will transition from a guarded guy into the affectionate, regal companion this breed is known to be.
If you are ready to offer Milo a committed, understanding home where he can safely gain weight and learn that clear boundaries are always respected, then he might be your perfect match! We are unsure of his history with dogs or cats, but our adoption counselors are happy to give advice on proper introductions to any furry family members.
Milo is neutered and has received core vaccinations (bordetella, canine distemper, rabies), flea + tick preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped.
If you are interested in adopting Milo, reach out to us at 920-733-1717 or adopt@foxvalleypets.org. You can also make an appointment online or feel free to take a peek during our open hours!
