If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
It is with very heavy hearts that we are looking to rehome our 6.5-year-old rescue, Ferris (likely Blue Heeler/English Pointer). We’ve had him since he was 7 weeks old. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
Ferris is smart, loving, and playful, but struggles with high anxiety that has worsened with age. He is very uncomfortable around kids, and after a one-off warning bite to our 3-year-old (not an attack, but required stitches), we feel a child-free home is safest, especially with a new baby on the way. He also has a minor sprain in his back left leg that is healing with rest.
Ferris needs a child-free home with someone experienced in dog behaviour/anxiety. He requires regular exercise, patience, and slow adjustment. He isn’t great with male dogs but does well with female dogs (including ours).
