Rowan is a striking and sweet young puppy, believed to be a mix of Shepherd and/or Husky—a mix that explains her intelligence and drive! She is such a fast learner and is already excelling at all her basic training. She is a determined puppy who needs an owner or family equally committed to keeping her mentally and physically stimulated.
What Rowan Needs in Her Forever Home:
• Rowan thrives on training and challenge. She needs a home prepared to use crating to keep her safe and contained when they are not with her, ready to focus on keeping her brain active with training and challenges, and a fenced yard would be ideal, though not essential, if she is guaranteed plenty of walks and engagement.
• She’d do best with people who have experience with active, intelligent, high-drive breeds. Her Shepherd/Husky instincts are strong. She has already shown some herding instincts in her play so she needs a family that understands and can shape those instincts into proper behaviors.
• No Apartments: Rowan can be quite vocal when stimulated or determined. She’s not a dog meant for shared walls.
• Rowan is currently navigating life with a small, dog-savvy cat who is very direct with her corrections. Rowan is still highly curious and interested in chasing/herding. She’d do best in a home without cats or small creatures she can chase/herd. She may be OK in a home with a cat that is very dog-savvy and clear in setting boundaries with doggy friends.
Rowan lives her life “big” in many ways, including snuggling. She truly enjoys being close to her family and soaking up attention.
