My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Virginia, a sweet and gentle puppy with the perfect blend of calm and playfulness. She may be young, but she already shows wonderful manners and a mellow temperament — and when it’s time for fun, she’s all about toys and playtime!

Virginia is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, and she’s ready to start her new life with a family who will love her as much as she’ll love them.

If you’re looking for a well-rounded puppy with a soft heart and a joyful spirit, come meet Virginia today!

More about this shelter

Norman Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to providing a safe environment for our adoptable animals we also are responsible for the enforcement of all animal related laws within the City of Norman and holding all stray animals that are located. In addition to these main roles, we also provide public microchipping, city pet licensing, and other educational services to our community.
We average approximately 3,400 animals in and out of our facility each year. We have an amazing facility that fully opened in 2016. We operate daily with a very limited staff supported by several amazing volunteers. We operate an active foster program and are always seeking to work with those in our community interested in assisting us in our mission.
