My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wisp is a ball of fluff with rabbit ears looking for a loving fur-ever home where she can be spoiled like the divine queen she is. When she came to the SPCA she was quite underweight and matted but has blossomed into a healthy, happy rabbit. Wisp is a fairly outgoing and curious rabbit that instantly wins over anyone who meets her though she may be a bit shy initially in a new environment. Wisp is happy to spend her days exploring hideouts, nibbling hay and leafy greens, or simply stretched out in a sleepy fluffy heap. Willow is looking for an adopter who will cherish her and provide her with plenty of space, enrichment, and gentle human companionship. Being an Angora rabbit, Wisps long, luxurious coat requires a lot of consistent grooming to keep it free of tangles. Adopters need to be familiar with the special needs of Angora rabbits and committed to the additional care required beyond the already specialized diet and care that rabbits require. With patience, love, and a cozy indoor home, Wisp will blossom into delightful companion who brings warmth, calm, and a bit of magic to any household lucky enough to welcome her.
Wisp came in with another rabbit, Willow, who has been a companion to Willow if adopters are interested in a pair of puffballs.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort
