Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Yoda and Layla, about 2 month old siblings, were brought to live at my home in October 2024 by a family member who was living with me at the time. That person left in July 2025 and left these dogs with me. They are both strictly outside dogs. They are big, happy, affectionate and protective of our home. They are friendly with people who they are acquainted with. Yoda has learned to walk on a leash. Layla has been spayed, had a rabies shot, and started on NexGard Plus. Yoda has started on NexGard Plus, but hasn't been neutered yet. He has had a stubborn eye infection which I treat with ointment. Neither has been microchipped. They love to play and wrestle and entertain each other by playing chase, etc. They would do well to stay together."
If interested please contact Cathy Parks at (409) 880-5046 or via email Cpformj@gmail.com

Additional adoption info
To confirm an animal's location, please call the shelter 409-833-0504 to ask if an animal is at the shelter or in foster care. We work really hard to ensure each pet goes into a home that is the best fit for them and the new family. This is why a session with a Matchmaker is required. Adoptions are on a first approved basis.

Originally formed as the Humane Educational Council of Southeast Texas in 1962, the primary focus was to educate the public on animal care and compassion. In 1981, our name changed to Humane Society of Southeast Texas (HSSET) but our goals and values remain the same. HSSET is devoted to building a better community for both pets and people through education programs and setting a new standard for companion animal care.
The HSSET is a non-profit, 501(c)3 charitable organization run entirely on grants, donor contributions, community volunteers, and a lot of love.
Our shelter is a limited intake no-kill facility serving not only the City of Beaumont, but the entire Southeast Texas region.
