Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pimple and Matsy are a 15-year-old bonded pair of Russian Blues looking for their forever home. They are two distinguished seniors with plenty of love, quirks, and personality to share.
Pimple is the regal matron of the duo: loyal, devoted, and always aware of where her favorite human is. She prefers to sit close rather than on your lap, maintaining her graceful poise while still making it clear you are her person. Her partner Matsy, on the other hand, is the friendly adventurer. She is an easygoing lap napper with a calm confidence and a keen interest in household happenings. When the humans are busy, you’ll usually find Pimple tucked into a cozy dark corner for a quiet recharge, while Matsy takes his post atop a perch in the heart of the home, supervising the day’s activities.
Despite their age, both Pimple and Matsy still have a playful spark. A laser pointer will send them scampering, and each has their preferred games: Pimple proudly hunts a wand toy hidden under a blanket or bats at a fuzzy ball for solo entertainment, while Matsy is delighted by a dark string slithering across the floor. Both adore pets and scritches, and Pimple especially enjoys a gentle weekly brushing.
Currently living with two adults in a single-family home, they do well with other cats and have experience with older children (12+). They haven’t met dogs yet. A calm, stable home where they can stay close to their humans would be the perfect fit for them. They enjoy greeting visitors, supervising projects, and being steady companions.
As with many senior cats, they occasionally have hairballs or mild stomach upset, which is well-managed with appropriate food. Pimple may have slightly sensitive joints and prefers to avoid too many stairs.
These two sweet, social seniors are ready to bring warmth, companionship, and gentle joy to a loving home.
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimates.
Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
