My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Slate is a sweet, well tempered dog that adjusts well. He has obviously had a rough life as he can take a bit to warm up to you when you are new. Once he does, he is a total love. Pictured in picture two, he was laying on my vet floor with my service dog the third day he was here, and the first time meeting her. He was curious about other dogs, but didn't over push it, or get vocal to do so. Slate does have some issues with his digestive system, and digestive food has greatly helped him. He doesn't seem to have any allergies. He did have some flaky skin when he came in, some skin medicine and a table spoon of coconut oil once a week has seemed to keep them at bay.

Slate is 3 years old and as big as he is going to get. He got excited to meet people and kids at events and seemed to do well. Slate has sniffed the resident kitten through crate and was easy to redirect away, there were no sudden movements towards the cat, but has not had any direct contact with them. I think he would be a good candidate for living with cats, but he has not been cat tested beyond this.
