Meet Lucille, 1 of 5 all black kitties born on 09/02/2025! Lucille is located near Petsmart in Collegeville. This litter has been handled by humans since birth and as a result they are such a super friendly bunch. Every single one of them adores people, pets and kisses. They used to climb up their foster mom's legs to get attention when they were very small, and now can be picked up and held like purring, furry babies. They would all probably do well with kids because they are used to being handled, they are good with other kittens/cats, and would probably like dogs for a friend too after an adjustment period. Lucille had a pretty bad eye infection and was sick with an upper respiratory infection when the first arrived in foster care. After much attention and medications she is thriving and is now in the running for biggest kitten. She was so good for all of her eye drops and antibiotics she could probably have dosed herself. She would hold perfectly still and calm for her meds, such a good girl! Lucille is always the last one to bed and the hardest to catch because she is so smart and knows when playtime is over and tries to extend the game to stay up later.

The first step is to complete an Application. Start at the Adoption page on our website - https://www.straycatblues.org/adoption-process

Approve Application
You will be assigned an Adoption Representative who will review your application and check your vet and personal references.
3.
Meet the Pet
Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet for you with the cat(s) you are interested in.
4.
Sign Adoption Contract
Your Adoption Representative will go over paperwork with you. You will sign and then pay the Adoption Fee.
5.
Take the Pet Home
This is the best part! Take your new cat home!
Additional adoption info
During review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease.
We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption.
Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative.
All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted.
You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings). If you see a cat there that you like, you can complete an adoption application there in person.

Adoption Fees:
• $150 - Kittens up to one year of age
• $100 - For cats over one year and up to 7 years of age
• $70 - For cats 7 years of age and over.
All fees are subject to Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax and a minimum of $5 or 5% service fee.
Fees for cats with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.
