Meet Peanuts! Peanuts may be a hissy boy at first but deep down he just wants love! He has had a rough upbringing, so patience is a must with with this sweet feline. If you have time and care to listen to this fella's needs and wants, we assure you, you two will be the best of friends!

Kids: Peanuts hasn't met any kids yet. We always advise any children to be careful with any animal.

Dogs: Peanuts has never met a dog before so we advise patience and caution during any introductions.

Cats: Peanuts was homed with other kitty friends, however we advise slow and catious introductions.

Some things Peanuts likes: Wet food! Chin scratches, drooling on your hand

Additional adoption info

Our adoptions are processed same day! All we ask is for an adoption questionnaire and survey to be completed as well as a copy of the adopter's state ID in order to assure they are at least 18 years old.

Each animal has a fee which must be paid at the time of adoption and there is a small amount of paper to be completed as well.

We ask that adopted animals safely leave the shelter either in a carrier or in a leash and collar.

All adoptable animals have been spayed/neutered, received, age appropriate vaccinations, and a microchip! Cats have been tested for FIV and FeLV. Dogs have been tested for heartworm as well as kept current on flea and heartworm prevention.

Adoptions end a half hour before closing.

The Wood County Humane Society was originally founded in 1904, and has been committed to the well-being of many different species of domesticated animals that require our help. In 1988, the Minniebelle Conley Shelter was established through the generous legacy of the Minniebelle Conley Trust, and our current location was built to provide these services, and has continually been doing so since. We are a private, non-profit, limited admission, 501(c) (3) organization and rely on the generous contributions and donations of our members and residents of Wood County. We do not receive any funding from the ASPCA or the Humane Society of the United States for our daily operations.
