This big, beautiful sweetheart, estimated to be about 9 years old and weighing around 30 pounds, landed in a local shelter as an owner surrender before making her way to us. We don’t know why her previous owner dropped her off, and honestly… we’ve tried to come up with a reason, but nothing fits. Carla is wonderful. Truly. She deserves nothing less than a stable, loving forever home where she can finally put down roots.
Carla has one of the most infectious smiles you’ll ever see. She flashes a giant, toothy grin at everyone she meets, and it’s impossible not to fall in love! She is gentle, welcoming, and always happy to make new friends both human and canine.
In fact, she’s become a bit of a celebrity among our Pug Nation crew. Carla is a mellow senior who LOVES to be right in the middle of a “pug pile.” The other dogs gravitate to her like she’s the comfiest couch in the building, stretching out against her like she’s their personal pug-pillow. She doesn’t mind one bit, she’s just happy to be part of the group, soaking in the warmth and friendship.
Carla is a little overweight, but she’s taking her fitness journey like a champ. She enjoys her daily walks, trots along with a bit of pep in her step, and has been very gracious about her new healthy diet. Her future family should be ready to help her continue slimming down so she can feel her best and enjoy life well into her golden years. A home with someone who has a soft spot for seniors would be extra special.
She adores belly rubs, cozy naps, and gentle playtime. Mostly, she just wants to be someone’s beloved companion. She'll be the girl who curls up next to you, smiles up at you, and reminds you every day that you made her world whole again. She’s ready for her soft landing… could it be with you? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue
Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
