I have a 7-year-old shepherd (turns 8 in July 2026). He is well trained and follows commands. Sit, come, heal, spot, hurry, down etc... He can walk off leash but not advised in areas where there are people. He is fixed, has hip dysplasia and an auto-immune condition that affects his anus. He is a great and loyal dog but is also not socialized. He is protective of the home and will need to adjust to people he encounters. Pretty much if you're a stranger, his guard is up. I don't have the time needed to properly manage his condition and a recent career change has me working a lot, so he is home alone often.
