My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Charlie!

A charming twelve-and-a-half-year-old American Cocker Spaniel currently in East Meadow, NY, whose white and beige coat and gentle eyes are just the beginning of his irresistible charm.

Charlie is a sweet soul with a heart full of love and a playful spirit that defies his age. He may have celebrated his twelfth birthday this past August, but don’t let that number fool you, Charlie still delights in his nightly game of “keep-away” with his beloved penguin toy and never misses a chance to sniff out a snack (especially if peanut butter is involved!). He’s affectionate, calm, and happiest when he's close to his people, especially if that means snuggling on the bed at night.

He’s an incredibly social pup who shines brightest around women and children, and he’s shown himself to be wonderfully friendly with both dogs and cats. Whether he's greeting neighbors on a walk or enjoying quiet time with grandkids, Charlie’s warm and gentle nature makes him a joy to have around. His calm energy and loving demeanor make him especially well-suited for a caring family who can offer him a peaceful, affectionate environment.

Charlie is house-trained, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and neutered. He’s been on a hydrolyzed diet to manage his sensitivities and takes daily Apoquel and Theophylline every other day for early-stage COPD, easily managed with his meals. Thanks to daily glucosamine and chondroitin, his joints are in great shape, and he moves around comfortably. His grooming needs are simple: a trip to the groomer usually every 8-10 weeks keeps him looking handsome and feeling his best.

He’d thrive in a suburban home with a fenced yard or even a quiet farm, where he can sniff to his heart's content and soak up the love he’s so used to. Charlie is looking for a family who will cherish him as their own, welcome him into every part of their life, and give belly rubs on demand.
