Leonard is a big tabby boy who was transferred to us from another rescue group after being found outside. He is FIV+, so we’re looking for a home where he can either be the only cat or live with other FIV-positive kitties. Leonard can be nervous around loud noises and new people, so he needs a quiet, patient adopter. With some of our volunteers, he has started to show his friendly side and enjoys being affectionate. He loves having his fur brushed and his cheeks rubbed. Although he looks a bit rough from his time on the streets, he’s ready for a loving home. Leonard has an old eye injury that caused eyelid trauma, as you can see in some of his photos. Our vet has seen him and reports that he is not in any pain and does not require further treatment at this time.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application at https://www.medfieldshelter.com/adoption-forms/cat.
If you are ready to adopt, please fill out an adoption application. We offer same-day adoptions, so if the cat is a fit, you can take them home the day of your meeting.
If a cat is listed on our website, it is still available for adoption, but applications may have been received before yours.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only. The adoption fee for cats seven months to two years old is $250 for one cat and $350 for a pair; for cats three years to ten years old, it is $200 for one cat and $300 for a pair; and for senior cats 11 years and over, it is $125. The fee includes age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, microchip testing, testing for FeLV and FIV, and spaying/ neutering.

More about this shelter
The Medfield Animal Shelter's mission is to rescue lost or abandoned animals and provide for their comfort and safety until they are reunited with their owners or placed in new homes. We are a no-kill shelter, which means no pet will ever be euthanized because it has run out of time to find a home. We are committed to ending the overpopulation of pets that results in an estimated 5 million companion pets being euthanized at shelters in the U.S. every year, therefore all cats, rabbits and dogs adopted from us are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. We also sponsor a low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats at our shelter once a month.
