This helps Wolf Trap Animal Rescue with pet care costs.
Libra is a 6-year-old Shar Pei mix with a calm, friendly nature and a tail that never seems to stop wagging -- earning her the nickname “Wiggles.” She recently weaned her two puppies and is now ready to focus on being someone’s beloved companion. It’s clear Libra had a difficult start in life; missing fur around her neck suggests she may have once been chained. Despite that, she remains incredibly happy, social, and resilient, greeting new people with an easygoing confidence and genuine affection.
Libra does wonderfully in her foster home, where she lives peacefully with four cats and two dogs. She would enjoy having a laid-back canine companion who isn’t overly pushy, though she does like to play and enjoys relaxed walks around the neighborhood. A fenced backyard would be a dream for her—somewhere she can explore, lounge, and soak up the sun. She is potty trained, leash trained, and comfortable in a crate when needed. Libra is Heartworm posititve and currently undergoing treatment, which is fully covered by WTAR. She will need daily medication and a period of rest, but she’s an easy patient who takes her pills with peanut butter and is content to take things slow. Libra is simply a kind, adaptable dog who fits easily into a home and brings steady companionship wherever she goes. She’s ready for a second chance and a family to call her own.
