Welcome Back Cotton to DASH. She came to DASH, along with her 2 brothers, as a puppy and was adopted by her foster mom at 5 months. Cotton, through no fault of her own, is back with DASH because her owner is moving into a senior apartment and cannot take her. She is a wonderful dog. Cotton would do best with a family that has kids and another dog to play with. She is very much still a playful puppy and loves any attention that she can get. She always wants to meet new dogs and will back down if they are aggressive. Even the 8 lb, chihuahua, in her current home, puts her in her place. Cotton is intelligent and sometimes you think she would talk to you if she could and understands you talking to her. She is very loving, a great cuddler, likes being close to you, trained to stay in unfenced yard, and will come when called or just shows up at the door to come in. Telling her that you have a treat to give will always get her attention. She is house trained and will ring bells on door to go out. She knows the words treat, out, come, no, sit, down, off, pee and poop. She will need additional leash training because she is rarely on a leash. She is good for nail trims. She did well in a crate as a puppy when owner went out for a few hours. She has not been trained to be in a crate at night as she enjoys sleeping with her person.
