My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lexi — the sweetest little snow-loving Texan you’ll ever meet! ❄️🐾

Lexi is a cuddly, playful pup who packs a whole lot of love into her tiny frame. She came to us from a very rural Texas shelter that works hard to save pups from high-kill environments, and despite everything she’s been through, she radiates joy and affection.

This girl adores toys — squeaky, bouncy, crinkly… she doesn’t discriminate! When she’s not busy playing, she’s happiest snuggling up with her people for some well-earned cuddle time.

Even though she’s a Texas native, Lexi has fully embraced her Minnesota lifestyle. The snow doesn’t slow her down one bit — in fact, she loves romping around outside and taking in the chilly air like a true Minnesota girl at heart.

If you’re looking for a loving, spirited, toy-obsessed pup who will brighten every day, Lexi is ready to wiggle her way right into your world.

All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
