My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Teddy Reddy is a gorgeous, energetic, 9-month-old Poodle ready to become your ultimate adventure buddy. At 25 pounds, he’s the perfect size for both snuggles and trail runs.

Teddy is a smart cookie! He already has some basic obedience training under his belt and is a social butterfly, consistently receiving rave reviews at doggy daycare. He’s proven to be a flexible and friendly housemate, currently living happily alongside a confident cat and other dogs.

Teddy has a lot of love and energy to give, and he is searching for an equally active family to share it with.

·      Active Lifestyle: His ideal home is one that can include him in daily activity–think long walks, regular hikes, jogging, or any activity that keeps him moving!

·      Mental Stimulation: Teddy is eager to learn. He would thrive in an environment where his family is committed to continuing his education, teaching him new games, advanced tricks, or even exploring dog sports like agility or rally.

·      Inclusion: He loves being part of the action. A family that wants to integrate him into their daily routines and outdoor activities will make him the happiest dog in the world.

If you’re looking for an intelligent, athletic, and friendly young dog ready for a lifetime of fun, Teddy Reddy is waiting to meet you!

Currently thriving in a foster home with cats and dogs.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We ask potential adopters to complete an adoption application so we can determine if the dog will be a suitable match. Applications are available for download from our web site (http://www.homelesshounds.us/). All family members must meet and agree on the dog. Once the form has been submitted, a board reviews the application, to confirm that the dog is a good match. After that a home inspection is given, to check for poisonous plants, holes in the fence, etc. If everything is in order, then the adopter will foster the dog for two weeks, as the final step in ensuring that dog and human get along well. Once the foster period is completed then the dog is officially adopted (some paperwork will have to be filled out and we request a donation to help save more dogs).
If at any time, for any reason, the adopter is going to give up the dog, the dog MUST be returned to Homeless Hounds (Big Dog Rescue.)

More about this rescue

Homeless Hounds (Big Dog Rescue) is a non-profit, no-kill, 501-c tax exempt rescue which finds homes for dogs of all sizes.
We help dogs in danger of being euthanized in kill shelters find forever homes. We transport and place into foster homes very adoptable dogs that would have been killed in the already overfull shelters. We frequently transport dogs with medical needs to UC Davis before being placed into foster homes.
