If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We fostered Copper when he was 6 months old and foster failed. His past before us is unknown - he was found wandering the streets in Delta. He came to us afraid of everything and we did him a disservice by not socializing him more. I have been working with a trainer on some of his behavioral issues and he is eager to learn and highly food motivated.
Copper has lived in peace with our other 2 dogs for the last two years, however he started to show increasingly jealous aggression towards them and had a nasty fight that injured our whippet. For this reason, we are seeking to rehome him with an owner where he can be an only dog. Copper is not a bad dog but he is showing definite signs that he prefers people to dogs.
Copper is high energy and needs a fenced yard. He is kennel trained but never stays in for more than 3 hours. He loves sunshine, squeaky toys and belly rubs. Copper never has accidents in the house, sleeps through the night, and eats a grain-free diet.
