My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Oliver!

This handsome guy is the best snuggler around! He is extremely affectionate and loves to play.

At 4 years old and 30 pounds, he is the perfect age and size for all of your adventures!

Ollie came to us as a stray and would love to have a family for Christmas.

We have learned that Oliver is dog selective. At this time, we are looking for an adopter without other dogs so that he can decompress and work on training.

An adopter with other dogs who has training experience could also be a good fit.

Ollie has so much love to give! Help us make his Christmas wish come true!

More about this rescue

Hound Rescue is always in need of foster homes. We do not have a shelter so our ability to rescue is limited only by the number of families willing to take in a beagle in need. If interested go to http://houndrescue.com and click on "How to Foster."

Hound Rescue started in Austin, Texas in 1998. We are a small group of individuals who foster dogs in our homes. Hound Rescue also provides placement assistance to both shelters and others who need to find homes for hounds who for whatever reason have become stray.

Most of our animals come from high-kill facilities where they were scheduled to be euthanized. Because of the huge numbers of unwanted dogs, Hound Rescue Texas can only take owner surrenders on a limited basis as space permits in our foster home network.
