My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shirley is currently in foster. For more information about her or to schedule to meet her, please contact sarahdavisycas@gmail.com.

Seven-years-young Mama Shirley is looking for a fresh start.

She arrived at the shelter from a household with many dogs that the owners were unable to care for, so she spent most of her life in a backyard with little human attention.

She is seeking a patient, understanding adopter to help her adjust to life as a pet.

Her 3 adult pups—Poe, Pat, and Syngee—also came with her to the shelter, but it is recommended that she be separated from them because she can be a bit of a momma bear.

It would also be good for her to finally have some attention for herself.

She will likely do fine in a home with other small dogs, cats, and small-dog-savvy large dogs.

Shirley is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and flea control.

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
