My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Iris is a 6-month-old, 25 pound (as of 12/3/25) pittie mix who’s blossoming into the perfect combination of sweet, wiggly, and spunky! She’s a playful pup who loves staying active - whether it’s zooming around, chasing a toy, or enjoying a good chew on her favorite bone. But don’t let her energy fool you: Iris also knows how to unwind with a cozy nap on the couch and loves snuggling up with her favorite humans.
She’s smart, strong, and eager to please, especially when treats are involved. Iris is making great strides with potty training, leash training, and crate training, and she is excited to continue learning with her forever family.
If you’re looking for a furry friend who can bring both energy and affection into your life, Iris is ready to help your heart bloom!

More about this rescue

At Halfway There Rescue, we are a volunteer-run organization dedicated to making a difference for animals in North and South Carolina. Our mission focuses on reducing overcrowding in local open intake shelters while promoting the importance of spaying and neutering through community partnerships. We work tirelessly to provide compassionate care, foster opportunities, and life-saving interventions for pets in need. By engaging with the community, we aim to create a future where every animal has a safe, loving home. Together, we can reduce the burden on shelters and ensure a brighter future for all.
