Previously a farm dog, Sashi was trained to leave chickens and goats alone, but he still has a strong instinct to chase small animals, including cats, so he’ll need a cat-free home. He can also be selective with other dogs and may guard his favorite items, so he’d thrive as an only dog. With the right management and thoughtful introductions, he may be able to live with a compatible canine friend.

We ask that anyone in need of surrendering an animal call for an appointment. Our name reflects our geographic service area, not a governmental body. We are a nonprofit agency dependent on private donations and are not supported by tax dollars. As a "special admission" shelter we accept all animals in need, but we do utilize an appointment policy to ensure there is space for all incoming animals. Thanks to a dedicated and caring staff and volunteers, and the monetary contributions of so many compassionate individuals and businesses in our community, we offer our animals the best of care as they await their new forever home.
