My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sheba — A Soft, Fluffy Sweetheart Ready to Bloom ❤️

Sheba is a 7-year-old spayed female Chihuahua mix with a beautifully soft white-and-tan fluffy coat and the gentlest little spirit. She spent her entire life living among many other dogs, and when her world suddenly changed, Sheba found herself frightened, confused, and without the security she had always known.

At the shelter, she was tossed into a kennel, evaluated by strangers, and left completely abandoned. Terrified and feeling trapped, Sheba barked, cowered, trembled, and hid in the corner of her “room,” hoping the unfamiliar people would leave so she could feel safe again.

Because of her fear, others passed her by.
But Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows did not.
We stepped in and saved Sheba—along with her extended dog family—bringing her into a world of patience, compassion, and gentle care.

Now, Sheba is slowly blossoming into a sweet, affectionate little gal. She loves being petted, enjoys soft attention, and is learning that human hands can offer comfort rather than fear. Each day, she takes small, brave steps toward trusting again—and she is already showing hints of the happy girl she is becoming.

Sheba will thrive with an adopter who understands that trust takes time. With patience, kindness, and a calm environment, she will shine—and the love she offers in return will be deeply rewarding.

She is current on vaccinations and microchipped, and ready for a forever family who sees the beauty in a shy heart learning to love again.

If you have room in your home and heart for a gentle soul who simply needs a chance, Sheba may be the perfect match.
