If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Joey is about 4yrs old. We were told he was found as a stray with road rash and scars on his back end. Owner was unable to be found. We took him in about 2 years ago. He is a very loyal dog and protective of his family. He loves attention and bonds quickly with women and kids; however, he can be timid of men. He is not your typical black lab mix. He isn't constantly hyper and energetic. He doesn't like chaos. He'd rather lounge, take walk/rides with his family. He really is a good dog who just wants to love and protect his family/person. He would do fine in a home with female or possibly a submissive male dog, however, he'd do best in a home where he was the only dog. He can be aggressive with other male dogs, a reason we need to rehome. He currently is consistently marking in the house, is the other reason. We recently moved and it has brought back these behavior issues we have already worked through, and now we have a small baby and limited schedules to do it again. Good home only!
