Smoke (1 year old) (MoMo, Mo, Mur) came in as a terrified stray, but he always had a soft spot for love. He’s a vocal kitty who will happily “mur” his way through a conversation—hence the nickname. Smoke is goofy, playful, loves pets, and occasionally likes to be a shoulder “parrot” while being held. He plays well with other cats, is curious about dogs, and does best with a slow introduction to kids. He enjoys being around children and their toys but can get startled when things get loud. Smoke dreams of a forever home with his sister, where there are plenty of cat trees, spots to climb, places to explore, and a cozy bed or couch to cuddle on. He does have a grade 2 heart murmur, but it’s mild and simply something to keep an eye on during routine vet visits.
River (7 months old) is the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. Found in the engine block of a car at just over a pound, she has overcome every challenge thrown her way. She helped Smoke gain confidence and continues to bring out the best in him. True to a curious kitten, River has to be involved in everything happening around the house. If she’s there, Smoke is never far behind. River loves to be held and petted, and she’ll play with anything she can bat around with one paw—pens, hair ties, bobby pins, cat toys, even her 4-year-old human sister’s toys (her favorites). She’s wonderful with children and fits right into their activities, whether being pushed in a doll stroller or helping turn pages during story time. River also plays well with other cats and is curious about dogs, so a slow introduction would suit her best. She hopes for a warm, loving home with plenty of cuddle space on the couch or bed.
Together, Smoke and River’s favorite activity is racing and playing on the stairs—while not required, they think stairs are a bonus. Their favorite toy is a simple cardboard box with a few small plastic items inside
