My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dutch, the ultimate good-boy blend of sunshine, freckles, and pure-hearted charm. This 9-month-old yellow and white Lab Mix looks like he was handcrafted from summertime and marshmallows — and his personality is just as warm.

At 48 pounds, Dutch is the perfect “Goldilocks” size: big enough for adventurous hikes, small enough to fit in your lap (which he absolutely will try). He’s a gentle old soul wrapped in a goofy puppy body, and he melts for compliments, belly rubs, and anyone who looks his way.

Dutch’s Best Traits:

Social Butterfly: Loves dogs, respects cats, and thinks kids are tiny humans sent just for him.

A Breeze to Bring Home: He’s already vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped—ready to roll straight into family life.

Lover, Not a Fighter: His signature move is leaning gently into you like he’s trying to hug… because he is.

Dutch is the kind of pup who will match your energy—zoomies in the morning, couch potato by evening, and loyal shadow in between. He has that rare blend of sweetness and soft curiosity that makes everyone feel like they’ve known him forever.

If you’re looking for a companion who brings joy simply by existing, Dutch is your once-in-a-lifetime dog. Come meet this handsome marshmallow boy and let him charm the socks right off you.

Fill out a no-obligation adoption application at www.AlmostHomeDogRescueNC.com. One of our friendly adoption coaches will reach out to tell you more about this handsome guy.

More about this rescue

Almost Home Dog Rescue NC is a small foster-based rescue group in Western Carolina. After volunteering for years in a local county animal shelter, we could not turn away from the dogs that needed our help the most. We have created a home environment with comfy cabins for the pooches in our fun red barn and provide loads of fun, enrichment and training for the pups in our care. Our goal is to enrich the lives of both the dogs and their adopters alike! Want to learn more or interested in volunteering? Contact us! Interested in supporting our mission?
