This sweet girl missed out on early socialization, so many everyday things—like new people, sounds, and environments—can feel overwhelming to her. Birch is looking for someone patient and understanding, who will move at her pace and help her build confidence one small step at a time.
Birch would really benefit from a calm, confident dog sibling to show her the ropes and help her learn that new experiences can be fun. With time, stability, and lots of kindness, this nervous little girl has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. She just needs the right person (and dog friend!) to help her feel safe and supported as she discovers the good life.

Northeast Animal Shelter, established in 1976, is now part of the MSPCA-Angell, giving us a better opportunity to serve our community, provide additional life-saving programs and services, and protect more animals from cruelty and neglect.
Our adoption program is designed to be welcoming, nonjudgmental, and free of lengthy applications. We strive to engage all prospective adopters in a conversation aimed at matching an adopter’s lifestyle, interests and home environment with an animal’s personality, medical and behavioral needs. Adopting an animal is an extraordinary opportunity to choose your newest family member.
