HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet him, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.
---
- A Very Good Boy who is happy, curious and great to be around; loves cuddling, pup cups and playing with toys
- Can be very silly and loves to unstuff his stuffed dog toys to get the squeaker inside; he's very particular about not eating the stuffing and will just spit it out onto the floor
- Loves being his foster family's shadow; when he sees one of them head to the shower he will stick his head behind the curtain every now and then to make sure they're OK
- Foster family says he does well when left home alone and likes just looking out the window
- Walks well on a leash, although he may get excited when he sees other dogs on walks so he may do even better with a harness
- Enjoys putting his head out the window on car rides
- Generally does well when meeting strangers, may just be nervous when meeting many new people at once
- Has been potty trained in his foster home and will let them know when he needs to go out; just remember that any dog may need time to adjust to a new schedule and routine
- Great at going in his kennel when necessary
- May take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs and may prefer to be the only dog in his new home (dog intro required)
- Young, noisy or busy children may be too much for him, so he may be happiest in a more mature home
- We don't know his history with cats
This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
