Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to Max, our fiery-haired sweetheart from the Stranger Things crew — though unlike her namesake, this girl is all softness, no skateboard. Max came to us as a stray through MADACC, so we don’t know her past, but she’s ready to build a bright future with a family of her own.
Max is a long-haired German Shepherd puppy with a gentle spirit. She’s a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a moment to warm up and she melts right into you. With some time to decompress and a bit of confidence building, she’s well on her way to becoming someone’s devoted shadow.
She does wonderfully with other dogs and is great with kids. With proper, slow introductions, she’s also likely to do well with cats, making her a lovely fit for a variety of homes.
Max is sweet, snuggly, and eager to find the humans who will help her come out of her shell. If you’re looking for a companion who will reward patience with unwavering loyalty, Max is your girl.
*Max is available as a foster-to-adopt to a family within 30 min of Madison until her spay is completed.
All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Our adoption process prioritizes accessibility, equality, and inclusivity. An application can be completed online or in person, ensuring accessibility for all potential adopters. Additionally, our application is available in Spanish to cater to a diverse range of applicants.
Once an application is submitted and approved, we facilitate adoption meet-and-greets on-site at our shelter's adoption center. This allows potential adopters to interact with the animals they are interested in and make informed decisions about their adoption.
Overall, our adoption program is designed to make the process as smooth and inclusive as possible, ensuring that each animal finds a loving and permanent home.
