My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Hickory—and I’m just as sweet and lovable as I sound! I’m a 4-month-old Anatolian Shepherd mix weighing about 19 pounds right now, but I’ll likely grow to be around 60–75 pounds when I’m full grown. I’ve had my basic puppy shots, but my future family will need to keep me on track with my vaccine schedule and get me spayed when I’m old enough.

Anatolian Shepherds are known for being loyal, gentle, and super smart—and I’m already showing those traits in my own playful puppy way. I love to explore, sniff around, and soak up all the attention I can get. After a busy day of play, I’m happiest curling up close for some snuggles. I’m curious, affectionate, and oh-so-ready to find a family to love me forever.

If you think I could be the perfect new addition to your family, please apply to adopt me at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application from your laptop or computer. I can’t wait to meet you and show you just how sweet life can be with Hickory by your side!

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
