Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Legacy, a 2-year old, 25-pound Dachshund mix who believes deeply in two things: snacks and surveillance. This pint-sized sweetheart loves going out in the yard to watch the birds, the squirrels, and any passing leaf that might be plotting something. One of Legacy’s greatest joys in life is staring out the window like a little neighborhood security officer - - alert, invested, and absolutely convinced she’s in charge.
Legacy gets along beautifully with dogs, adults, kids, and the elderly. She’s polite, gentle, and eager to coexist with just about anyone. She’ll play with other dogs for a bit, but she’s not trying out for canine Olympics anytime soon. She’s offers just the right amount of affection, without being needy or clingy, as well as the right amount of independence, without losing any of her charm. She loves being pet, gobbles up treats with gusto, and will contentedly settle in with a good bone like it’s her favorite novel.
Legacy is housebroken, crate-trained, pad-trained, and trots so nicely on a leash you’ll feel like you hired a professional dog walker. As sweet as she is sensible, Legacy travels well, she’s easy to handle, and she doesn’t mind if you take away her food, toys, or any other item you wish to remove. Legacy doesn’t know many commands yet, but she’s working on sit and stay, and she learns quickly once she decides the moment feels right.
Legacy does have a bark…but don’t be fooled. It sounds like it belongs to a dog 10 times her size, which makes her an excellent guard dog cosplay specialist. She’ll bark at unfamiliar noises or new people approaching the house, but she also wags her tail the entire time, like she’s saying - I don’t know who are you but welcome to my Ted Talk.
Perfectly happy spending time peacefully adulting, Legacy displays zero separation anxiety. She’s an ideal apartment-sized companion with the personality of a much bigger dog wrapped nearly into a cute little Dachshund-mix package.
Sweet, funny, easy-going, and ready to bring a delightful blend of comfort and comedy to her forever home, whoever adopts this angel will be getting a dog who will love you, protect you, and watch wildlife with you like it’s high art!

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 4,500 dogs and cats since 2015.
PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.
Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.
We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.
Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
