My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Minnow - A Calico Searching for Safe Shores 🐾

Minnow is a beautiful 2‑year‑old calico who traveled down from Prince George alongside her friends Jack and Mario, each of them looking for a fresh start. For Minnow, life has been uncertain, and she's still learning that humans can be kind and safe. What she needs most now is a soft landing spot - a home filled with patience, love, and understanding.

💖 Personality & Story
• Gentle and cautious, still finding her confidence
• Enjoys attention once she feels secure, but needs time to warm up
• Curious and resilient, with a quiet strength beneath her shy exterior

🏡 Ideal Home
Minnow is searching for a calm, supportive family who will give her the space to learn trust at her own pace. A peaceful environment will help her blossom into the affectionate companion she's meant to be.

🌟 Why Adopt Minnow?
Minnow may be shy now, but with kindness and patience, she will reward her people with loyalty and love. Adopting her means giving a gentle soul the chance to finally feel safe, cherished, and at home.

✨ Will you be the one to help Minnow find her safe harbor?

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
