This helps Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue with pet care costs.
Paxton does well in a crate and has recently been less reluctant to go into the crate when it's time for bed. Once he is in the crate, he is quiet and knows it's time to sleep. He has been more hesitant to come up on the couch or climb up the stairs. I have had to carry him onto the couch to hangout with me, but once he is on it, Now that I have taken Paxton in the car to his vet run and really tried to buckle down on potty training, I wanted to add to his profile. He is going to need a home with someone who will be very patient with him. He was very scared today when he was put into his crate in the car. He cowered in the back of it and got so scared that he had a #2 accidents in the crate. When we got to Petsmart, he was so scared and meek. When I let him out of the crate to try to clean up his poop, he continued to tinkle out of fear/nervousness.
He has also been with Zion this whole time, and I noticed a lot of anxiety when his crate was taken away and put in the car and when he was separated from Zion. Paxton has been very slow to potty train and consistently goes #1 inside and occasionally does #2 inside. I cannot emphasize how much he will need someone who will be very patient and continue to work with him. he loves the cuddles. Paxton is very hyper and always greets me by jumping on me, but once he starts getting pet, he settles down and soaks it all in. He is playful and loves to wrestle with Zion. He is a digger and likes to chew on large rocks. He enjoys playing with squeaky toys and rope toys, and he and Zion have recently started playing tug of war with each other. Paxton is very shy and timid/fearful of new people. He will hide and not approach new people that come to our house. There have been a few boys (10-14 years old that come over to play with my son) that he will approach and is OK with. He is afraid of men with hats. However, he is very outgoing and playful with my babysitter, my son, and myself. He is still working on becoming potty trained, and he has accidents in the house daily. He guards his food from his foster brother, and even though he is smaller, he will bully Zion away from the food.
